Location
On Thursday 22nd or May I attended the Blank No More launch party in London at a Bar/Nightclub called The Social on Little Portand Street. I want to go here link.
Kate Nash
Kate Nash was also present, I was told I was slightly rude to her when asking if she was leaving so my group of friends can sit at the table when she and her friend were leaving. To be honest I don’t know a polite way of saying or asking if someone was leaving soon so that we could have the table. So Kate I’m sorry, I wasn’t being a dick head on purpose.
Here are my friends and I sitting at the table with art surrounding us in every direction.
The Art work
The Artwork on show were very stylish indeed and I took a liking to the very detailed skull like piece which I think looks amazing.
This piece I believe was designed by Eskimopush and the official Blank No More website has little on his background:
“Eskimopush’s early years were spent learning to skateboard on a homemade plank of wood with roller skates for wheels, eating Wham bars and drawing DangerMouse, Slimer and the members of Aha.
Before managing to convince anyone to pay him for his ideas, he worked as a handy man at a garden centre, a shelf stacker at Sainsbury’s and a chef in a highly questionable Italian restaurant. His design experience includes a year at Acorn Design in the Sussex countryside, 4 years as in-house designer at Warner Music and a short spell at Big Active. Now a self employed graphic designer and illustrator he spends most of his waking hours working on many varied creative projects from his mouse ridden studio on Fournier Street in Spitalfields.”
I truly love this piece, the swirls and puffs grow out of the skull like the persons love pouring out even when that person is dead, hence the skull, thus the message Love won’t Die. Love can surpass the limits of time, it is not bounded by it and this piece, to me symbolises that potent message.
Another one of my favourite pieces of the gallery was a rather cool looking pixel art. It was designed by EBOY entitled OOZE. The website’s description plays on the fact that it is difficult to distinguish what is being depicted:

“Think pixels need to be small? Think again. Look at this cool Kat. Er… Monkey. MonkeyKat. It could actually be a MonkeyKat because eBoy love their weird creatures.
Printed on heavy 310gsm Somerset Satin 100% cotton.”
I think is a monkey. A rather trendy monkey with his cardi, Big white watch and skinny fit jeans shouting Ooze!
The Party
Downstairs is where the dancing was at. Although I didn’t do any dancing, I felt quite tired by the end of the night.
